The renovation of The Apartments at Coolidge School was undertaken with emphasis on being both socially and environmentally conscious. In that spirit, rather than simple demolition, tens of thousands of pounds of material—from hardwood floors to vintage sinks to chalkboards—were carefully removed and donated so they could be reused or recycled.
From helping local non-profits to saving landfill capacity to preventing tons of CO2 entering the atmosphere, our principle of “building it right” means more than just high-quality construction standards.
In order to continue minimizing The Apartments at Coolidge School’s environmental impact in years to come, we have installed thermal windows throughout the building, each apartment is served by a high-efficiency boiler and features generous brick walls with original masonry.
Additional eco-conscious features include:
- Energy Star® appliances
- Programmable thermostat
- Low-flow toilets
- Solar panels
